About
I'm a German-born journalist in San Francisco who helps newsrooms and podcasts explain America's tech economy—clearly, fast, and with context. From 2017–2023 I reported as ARD's West Coast correspondent, covering everything from antitrust trials to wildfire seasons and the rise of generative AI.
Earlier, I hosted mornings at SWR, built a small software team at BR to ship digital products, and filed for the BBC World Service. Along the way I received the Kurt Magnus Award and a Grimme Online Award.
Strengths
- Editorial leadership: tightening story arcs, sharpening theses, landing lines that carry on air
- Field craft: booking, access, and interviews under pressure; calm in breaking news
- Audio & video: hosting, voice, script, and edit (Adobe Audition, DaVinci Resolve, Avid Pro Tools, Premiere Pro)
- Beats: AI/ML, chips & supply chains, antitrust, Big Tech strategy, U.S. policy
Current Work
I publish Implicator.ai—an English-language AI news website with a flagship daily newsletter—and take on selected assignments as a senior story editor, producer, or on-air reporter. I also produce video interviews and podcasts for organizations that need crisp storytelling without fluff.
